What is THCa?

THCa, or tetrahydrocannabinolic acid, is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid found in raw cannabis plants. When THCa is heated through smoking, vaping, or cooking, it converts into THC, the compound responsible for the psychoactive effects commonly associated with cannabis. THCa is also believed to have potential therapeutic benefits, such as anti-inflammatory and neuroprotective properties.

Will smoking THCa get me high?

In a nutshell yes, THCa gets decarboxylated (heated) and converts into THC when you burn it, thus giving you the same psychoactive compound that causes the high. However ingesting THCa in its raw form will not produce any effects.

Why is this legal?

The Farm Bill is a comprehensive piece of legislation that governs a wide range of agricultural and food programs. The 2018 Farm Bill legalized the cultivation and sale of industrial hemp and its derivatives, including CBD, as long as they contain no more than 0.3% THC by dry weight. This bill has significantly impacted the cannabis industry by allowing the legal production and sale of hemp-based products across the United States.
